Why Somatic Healing?

The body holds the blueprint for transformation.

The Somatic Practitioner Program offers a mind-body (neurosomatic), trauma-informed approach to healing, transformation + personal development that begins with building a relationship to the body + its wisdom. When we use the body as the master blueprint, we have a portal into understanding how our earlier (and generational) experiences have shaped us (for better or for worse) + how those experiences may be contributing to our current mental, emotional, physical + spiritual issues. In working with these somatic processes in the body we can support a root healing to reclaim our wellbeing + true authentic selves.

What is the Somatic Discovery Process?

Expand your mind-body wisdom.

In SP training you learn a specific Somatic Discovery Process to access + support the bodies’ healing wisdom. The practitioner learns 6 core practitioner competencies that they must embody in order to facilitate a proper somatic session, along with how to facilitate the 15-steps of the complete Somatic Discovery Process. Once the practitioner becomes skilled at using the SDP, it can easily become tailored to the practitioners way of working + used in a variety of ways to produce powerful healing results with clients.

Who is the right fit?

Are you called to work with the wisdom of the body to support healing + transformation?

This program is the right fit for someone who is ready to embark on a therapeutic, body-based, interactive group training program that offers personal healing, professional trauma-informed somatic training, + mentorship. It is important that students come into this program aware that the somatic discovery process will take them very deep, uncovering unconscious layers of the Self. The focus of level 1 + 2 training is on the personal somatic healing + development of the practitioner while learning how to use the somatic discovery process + the necessary facilitation skills with their fellow students. Once level 1+2 is completed, students can then register for level 3 mentorship + certification where the focus shifts to working with real client case studies. The entire 3 levels of the program (on average) will take a student 8-months to complete.

Suggested Preparation

Reiki or another form of body-centered healing

If you do not have previous experience being in therapy, or with body-centered approaches, it will be important to get that foundation before taking this program. Body-centered trainings such as Reiki, will support the practitioner in accessing their connection to safety + support, therefore developing their ability to hold that space for their clients. The Mode School offers a Level 1+2 combined Reiki Practitioner program that you can take to build your foundation in order to then begin your Somatic Practitioner training.
